Trevor Weston worked in the sorting office in Frome, then delivering post. He took part in the nine week Post Office Workers Union strike of 1961 which did a lot to improve pay.
David Barnes left school at 15 and went to the Post Office. There were three messenger boys delivering telegrams, often about births and deaths as most people didn’t have a phone.
Anne Wallis came to Frome in 1968 with her family. She trained in social work and psychology and helped set up the first Family Centre in Frome.
Elaine Pugsley moved to Frome as a young mother. She took her son to Christ Church Playgroup and began volunteering at the Opportunity Playgroup on Wesley Slope. She later moved on to social work.
