Clive Vincent farmed at Alice Street Farm near Wanstrow before retiring for health reasons. Geoff Sheppard also farms near Wanstrow. Both men have vivid memories of the social and economic importance of Frome Market to the farming community.
Food and Farming
Ron White lived in the Waterloo area of Frome as a child. He later joined the army and then worked as a local taxi driver.
Trevor served an apprenticeship at Wilson and Scotchman. He later worked for the plastics company Wallington Weston, and served as a trade union representative.
John Burge has lived most of his life in the Trinity area and spent his working life in Frome.
Jeff Smith’s passion for gardening began in childhood and has continued throughout his life. He is now a self-employed gardener.
